On December 13, Wenzhou Moptim Medical Technology Co., Ltd. marked a significant milestone for the China Eye Valley Science and Technology Innovation Park (Zone A) by launching production line project. Spanning over 3,000 square meters, the facility integrates research, production, focusing on myopia prevention and public eye health solutions.

The park is further supported by the coordinated efforts of the Wenzhou municipal and Longwan district governments, accelerating growth in life sciences with a specific focus on ophthalmology. Over the past two months, China Eye Valley has signed agreements for 13 billion-yuan production projects, with 29 more projects currently undergoing review. The park aims to achieve 60-70% occupancy by June 2025, further cementing its role as a hub for innovation and industrialization.

During the launch ceremony, Wang Hui, Chairman of Moptim, expressed gratitude for the support received throughout the project’s development. He noted the seamless collaboration with local authorities and emphasized confidence in Wenzhou as a launchpad for Moptim’s ambition to strengthen and expand China’s ophthalmic medical device industry. He said, “With guidance from Wenzhou and Longwan governments and the support of China Eye Valley, we aim to propel China’s eye health sector from Wenzhou to the world.”

Xu Liande, Secretary General of China Eye Valley, highlighted the significance of Moptim’s entry into the park, calling it a vital step forward in the park’s mission to develop an industrial ecosystem for eye health. He noted that Moptim has expanded its focus beyond ophthalmic testing equipment to include surgical interventions, public eye health, and myopia prevention, creating a three-pronged strategy for growth. He also emphasized that China Eye Valley would continue to provide Moptim with top-tier resources and support, enabling the company to scale new heights as a leading ophthalmic technology institution.

Moptim’s development in Wenzhou is set to have a lasting impact on public eye health and the domestic ophthalmic industry. With 89 authorized invention patents, 12 PCT patents, and innovative solutions like the world’s first frequency-domain visual optical biometer, the company is well-positioned to lead systemic solutions for ophthalmic care, myopia prevention, and eye health.

The launch of Zone A marks a major step towards establishing China Eye Valley as a national leader in eye health technology. Backed by strategic government support and pioneering companies like Moptim, the area’s ongoing development is set to secure Wenzhou’s reputation as a global hub for ophthalmic innovation and excellence.
